This calculator uses the 2024/25 Australian income tax rates as set by the ATO (Australian Taxation Office). The rates apply to Australian residents. Non-residents pay different rates without the tax-free threshold.
Important changes for 2024/25: The Stage 3 tax cuts came into effect on 1 July 2024. The 32.5% bracket was extended, and the top threshold for the 19% rate was increased. These changes benefit middle-income earners significantly.
The Medicare Levy of 2% applies to most taxpayers. Low-income earners may receive a Medicare Levy reduction or exemption. The Low Income Tax Offset (LITO) provides up to $700 in tax reduction for lower-income earners.
